Chrysler Recall To Repair Steering

Certain vehicles "may have been built with missing or incorrect installation of rivets at pivot steering column," National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) said in a statement on its website.
"Defects can increase the potential for injury in a frontal crash," NHTSA said. "The recall covers 11,351 vehicles: Chrysler 200, Chrysler 200 Convertible, Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Compass, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler."
Drawn vehicles made between April and May. Chrysler told NHTSA recall on June 7.

Toyota Recall Thousands of Cars For Air Bag
Toyota plans to withdraw almost 730.000 vehicle in United States and Canada to fix (Recall) due to a problem in the drivers airbag and a switch that can cause the vehicles could not be turned on.
Toyota said it had learned of the accident injury caused by both of these conditions.
Recall due to damage to the cable affects the United States truck Tacoma 495.000 and 17.178 in Canada with a model year 2005 to 2009. "Due to the combination of the spiral cable design steering wheel and unique characteristics of the chassis to Tacoma, friction between the spiral cable and anchoring in the spiral cable steering wheel may occur in several vehicles," Toyota said in a statement, Wednesday (7/3).
"Friction from time to time may result in a loss of connectivity to the drivers airbag module. If connectivity is lost, the airbag warning light on the instrument panel will stay lit after the vehicle is turned on and the drivers air bag may not be active, blocking the inflating airbag when an accident. "Says automotive corporate Spokesman.
The withdrawal because of a stop lamp (brake/stop lights) affect 70.500 car Camry and 116,000-Venza in the United States along with vehicle Camry and 2,379 Venza 27.737 with model year 2009 to 2011.
Toyota said it in the process to obtain the spare parts needed and will notify owners when spare parts are available. Repairs will be performed at no cost.
